Short Mail Order Bride in Medora

Short Mail Order Bride in Medora

Here is a Marriage License from Ancestry dot com showing a Short Mail Order Bride in Medora  with Hugh Connoran Short in Dickinson, ND.  Family lore indicates that she came west expecting to be wed to a ranching magnate.  He was, but the accommodations at the Short Ranch and in Medora probably didn’t live up to her East Coast expectations!

I’ve found her family in CT, but there is no other records or information on this marriage that I’ve found.  I don’t know if the marriage stood, or how long she stayed in North Dakota.
